Big success of Protest Meeting at Azad Maidan
Mumbai 16 august 2010 : Thousands of senior citizens sporting black bands around their arms and shouting slogans like "we want our respect" or "shame on the government to neglect Sr.Citizens " : “ we want immediate implementation of the NPOP “staged a protest meeting at Azad Maidan, Mumbai . Meeting was well organized by 27 organizations of seniors including Fescom and AISCCon Silver Inning . Harmony and many others
Meeting was in high spirit , WhenDr .Amruta Lovekar and Mr.Shailesh Mishra were giving slogans from stage it was equally responded with great applause from protesters . even protesters were giving aggressive slogan Many groups of ladies came and sing songs . Shree Ramanugrah Trust Staged an Road DraMA (Path Natya about Abuse of seniors) .The meeting was a great success
This protest was part of an all India 'Senior Citizens National Protest Day', observed in various cities, towns and villages. The core of the protest was to demand health insurance for all senior citizens - with or without any pre-existing disease, immediate implementation of the NPOP, and the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), which would give senior citizens Rs1000 as monthly pension. The protest wanted these facilities to be granted to all Below Poverty Line (BPL) senior citizens, and residents of old age homes.
The protest was supported by 27 national, state and local level organisations, NGOs, associations of banks/insurance companies and retired employees.

Shailesh Mishra Silver innings Mrs Shilu Srinivasan (Dignity Foundation ) Mr.Mehata (Harmony Mr.Boragaokar ( Helpage Mrs,Amruta Lavekar (Shree Ramanugrah Trust )Mr.Nair MrAmble (pension asso)Mr.and many Dr. Kinjavadekar president and convener of Action committee spoke in his most appealing style and explained seniors demand
At 5pm a call for meeting came from Mantralaya for discussion .A memorandum with various demands from senior citizens was submitted to the government of Maharashtra. State minister of social justice was handed over to his secretary. Mr Ahir Stae minister for social justice was visited by Dr SP Kinjawadekar (president of the AISCCON and Convener of Action committee along with mr. Kaskhedikar (Fescom ) Mr.Aundhe ( Fescom Mumbai Region ) Mr S.Mishra, Mr Samant,) and Mr. R.n Chapke and others.
Late News As per late news- Mr.Sachin Ahir, state minister for social justice.principlly agreed to most demands. Asked to meet again in a week."
